Description: Tuffy Stone’s sauce is a thick, tomato based sauce that is packed with a great balance of flavors. It is not overly sweet, and has hints of garlic and cumin. 

Packaging: It is a clear package. You know immediately who it is and what it may taste like. I love that it has a description of the flavors on the bottle. As premium sauces get more and more expensive, it is nice to see a description of what you are buying. 

Taste: It is as advertised. The tomato really is the star of the sauce. Where as many sauces are very sweet, ketchup based concoctions…Tuffy brings out the flavor of the tomato itself. I know it sounds weird because most BBQ sauces are tomato based, but this one is truly a tomato based sauce. It is not overly sweet, which I appreciate. The slight, chili seasoning flavor (probably the cumin) gives this sauce a unique flavor profile. Very tomatoey and a bit of chili spice. 

Consistency: This sauce is thick! It is easy to brush on and coats meat well.

Best uses: Chicken…really good on chicken!! Don’t get me wrong, it is good on everything, but OMG try it on chicken!! It is not an overly sweet KC style sauce, so if you love the sweetness factor, this one is less sweet.

Price: The price compared to other premium sauces, was very competitive, coming in as one of the best values out there at about $7.

Conclusion: Of you want a fresh tasting sauce with a nice spice flavor, this is a good one. Fresh tomato, garlic, and cumin are present. It is also nice and thick and the price is right!
