Meet the World Famous (In my own mind) Pitmaster Stan!

 

Husband, Father, and Teacher with a BBQ and cast iron passion!

Hi! This is Red Deck BBQ and my name is Stan! I grew up in Hibbing, MN and tried real BBQ for the first time when on a trip to Georgia. My tastebud's were awoken and I bought books to learn (pre-YouTube days). I practiced on a good ol' Weber Kettle grill and got good at making smoked meats. I took a teaching job working with at-risk students here in Rochester, MN, got married, and had two boys. Before the first child was born, I saved for over two years and ultimately chose a Grilla Silverbac smoker. It is what I needed to continue my BBQ obsession, and be a father of two very young children.

So follow me as I try my best to navigate being a full time husband, father, and teacher...while trying to cook up some tasty meals at the same time!
